How do I know someone is a Game Master?

In-Game Chat

Most often, GMs will contact you in-game via whispers. You can tell whether or not the person contacting you really is a GM by the tag preceding their name, as shown above.

"In Person"
On occasion, a GM will need to make him or herself visible when contacting you. Visible GMs can be identified by the tag that is located above their avatar, before their name, as shown to the right.

Email from Game Masters
If a Game Master is unable to reach you, you may receive an email in the address registered to your World of Warcraft account. Please be certain to keep the email address up to date. Many email providers include spam and junk mail filters, which can prevent emails sent by Game Masters from reaching your inbox. You will want to set your filters to allow email addresses from Blizzard.com so you do not miss any important communication about your account.

In Game Email
In some situations, you may receive an email from a GM in your in game mailbox. Emails sent to your in game mailbox will be from "Customer Support", have a Blizzard icon, and the letter itself will have a Blizzard watermark.
